Bainbridge Island students got a second snow day after classes were canceled due to weather conditions Tuesday morning.
District officials announced earlier today: “Due to inclement weather and icy roads, school is canceled for Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017. A decision regarding after-school sports and activities will be made later today.”
A powerful snowstorm buried Bainbridge Island — and much of the Puget Sound area — in a thick blanket of snow early Monday morning, prompting school closures, late ferries and power outages that affected thousands.
According to the National Weather Service’s office in Seattle, rain mixed with snow is forecast — with more snow overnight — through Wednesday on Bainbridge, though the heaviest dusting was thought to be behind us.
