Spartans named to All Metro Team

Bainbridge diving champ Zora Opalka and four members of the Spartans swimming team have been named to the 2016 All Metro Team in girls swimming and diving.

Opalka, a senior at BHS, won the 3A state title in diving this year.

The other Spartans earning honors were Erin Miller, a junior at BHS who swam in the 100-yard butterfly; and the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Hannah Tonsmann, Miller, Laruen Witty and Carina Laukaitis.

The same foursome was also named All Metro for the 400-yard freestyle relay, according to BHS Athletic Director Kaycee Taylor.

Laukaitis is a senior swimmer; Witty is a junior; and Tonsmann, a sophomore.
