Babe Ruth team 2-1 at Regionals
The Bainbridge Island Babe Ruth baseball All-Stars are still in to win it all.
The team is 2-1 in pool play as of yesterday’s game in the Babe Ruth Pacific Northwest Regional Tournament at Propstra Stadium in Vancouver, Wash.
Bainbridge won their first game over Calgary 9-4 on Tuesday. The team had 10 total hits and no errors, as Kevin Hope went 3 for 3 and Colby Morse, Ross Olason and Ian Powell combined to get the win.
On Wednesday, Bainbridge lost to Southern Oregon champion Ashland 7-3.
Jake Estes tripled and had a RBI, while Powell went 2 for 3 and Steffen Daquisto had a double.
The All-Stars took care of business on Thursday, defeating Wyoming champion Gillette 12-2 in five innings. Powell went the entire five innings, giving up just four hits. He also doubled.
Kiyle Playter and Morse had triples while Casey Adkins had two hits and drove in two runs.
Bainbridge played Southern Washington champion Kelso yesterday.
A win would move the Bainbridge stars on to the championship semifinals tomorrow.
