Keira Plehal, 3, throws leaves onto a tarp as Kristine Ewing and Claire Plehal gather up more leaves. The trio were among the volunteers who helped spiffy up the grounds at the Bainbridge Island Saddle Club during its annual spring cleanup event Sunday.

The season will get off to a quick gallop soon. The club’s first show of the season is a hunter/jumper event on Saturday, April 14. And a dressage show is planned for Saturday, April 28.
