A group of local students will lead a rally memorializing George Floyd, the man killed by Minneapolis police on May 25, at the intersection of Highway 305 and Winslow Way at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 6.
“They organized speakers, the police department will have one speaker, along with some teachers and community members,” said Bainbridge High School teacher Brad Lewis.
“[It’s] not only for justice and equality, but also to send a message to these students that we see them, hear them, and support them,” he explained. “They have had a tough few months, so has our country and specifically some minority communities have been hit even harder than ours.”
