All women are invited to attend Savvy Women Exchanging Relevant Views to hear the personal story of Port Gamble dog sled musher and racer Laura Daugerau.
Daugerau will give the talk “Face Your Mountains” at the next SWERV meeting, from 10:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday, June 12 at Filipino American Hall, 7566 High School Road.
She discovered her passion at age 10, became the first Washington women to complete the famous Iditarod race in Alaska, and now arranges her life to continue in her sport. Daugerau works with her father in their construction business in the summer, frequently sharing with youth and others the life lessons the dogs and racing have taught her, and then every autumn decamps to a 6,000-acre Montana ranch to continue her training and competition.
