Travelers on the Bainbridge Island-Seattle route should expect delays at the Bainbridge terminal on the morning of Wednesday, March 4 as service on the Kingston-Edmonds route is down to one-boat service and eastbound drivers are being diverted to the Bainbridge ferry.

Washington State Ferries canceled the 8:40 a.m. sailing from Kingston and the 9:40 a.m. sailing from Edmonds, and WSF is directing travelers to the Bainbridge-Seattle run as an alternate route.

The service disruption in Kingston has led to clogged morning traffic on southbound Highway 305 across Bainbridge Island Wednesday morning, and WSF reports travelers arriving at the Bainbridge terminal after 8:30 a.m. will have to wait until the 9:40 a.m. sailing to Seattle.

The service disruption on the Kingston route was reported just after 8 a.m. March 4 and was due to needed repairs on the ferry MV Tokitae, according to WSF.

There is an estimated two-hour wait for vehicles departing the Kingston terminal.
