Three left eastbound lanes of Highway 16 across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge will be closed at tonight at 9 p.m. as crews work to repair pavement on the bridge.
The 24th Street on-ramp to eastbound Highway 16 will also be closed.
All lanes and the ramp will reopen by 5 a.m. Saturday, June 15.
The triple-lane closure will reduce eastbound traffic to one lane across the bridge. Eastbound motorists are advised to expect delays.
Tonight will be the second of two nights needed for crews to repair various pavement segments on the bridge. The first night of repairs took place Thursday night.
Today crews are carefully watching the weather forecast, and if the weather worsens, they will postpone the closures and work and reschedule on another dry night.
The pavement repairs fall under the Tacoma Narrows Bridge pavement warranty and the work is being be performed by design-builder Tacoma Narrows Constructors.
