The Bainbridge Parks Foundation will be hosting the Trillium Trail Run again this year.
The Trillium Trail Run will be offering runners and walkers alike the opportunity to tackle untimed 10k and 5k routes at the event, scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 13. The trails wind from Battle Point Park along the Forest to Sky Trail and through the Grand Forest.
In an unusual twist, participants will not win prizes for being the first to cross the finish line. Instead, prizes will be awarded to those who draw the best poker hand from cards collected along the route.
“Last year’s inaugural race was a smashing success, with a great turnout of happy trail runners from all over Kitsap County,” said Trillium Trail Run creator Jenny Campbell.
Runners are advised to take advantage of the special early bird rates by registering in advance. Early registration closes at midnight on Wednesday, May 10 but runners may also register the day of the race, beginning at 7:15 a.m.
Proceeds from the run will be used to support trail construction and enhancement projects on Bainbridge Island.
