SUQUAMISH — A truck knocked down a utility pole on State Route 305 near Suquamish Way Monday afternoon, causing the pole to burst into flames.

The collision occurred at about 3 p.m. and briefly blocked both lanes of SR-305. One lane of the highway was reopened by 3:30 p.m. but northbound traffic was still being rerouted through Suquamish on Totten Road.

State Patrol Trooper Krista Hedstrom said responders were waiting for Puget Sound Energy to shut off electricity to the pole before it could be cleared.
