The landslide just got a little bigger.

Support for Bainbridge Island’s two school levies on the Feb. 11 Special Election ballot has grown with an updated tally of ballots.

The Kitsap County Elections Division counted roughly 750 more ballots on Wednesday, Feb. 12.

The new vote tally has Proposition 1, the Educational Programs and Operations Levy for the Bainbridge Island School District, passing with 76 percent of the vote.

A total of 7,403 ballots for Prop. 1 were tallied on Election Night, when support for Prop. 1 hit 75 percent. An additional 752 votes for the measure were counted Wednesday.

The vote count now stands at 6,203 for the measure, and 1,952 against.

Support for Proposition 2, the Bainbridge district’s Technology Levy, is also inching upward.

The latest vote count shows 72 percent of voters in favor of the measure, up from 71 percent on Election Night.

The vote tally for Prop. 2 now stands at 5,882 “yes” votes, and 2,263 “no” votes.

A simple majority was required for both levies to pass.

The next vote count is planned for Tuesday, Feb. 18. Elections officials estimate there will be approximately 100 ballots to count.
