The passenger who went overboard from the ferry M/V Wenatchee is in “good condition” after being pulled from the waters of Puget Sound, a Coast Guard spokesman said Tuesday afternoon.
Travelers aboard the 1:15 p.m. ferry sailing from Seattle reported seeing a man jump off the rear end of the lower car deck as the ferry Wenatchee approached Bainbridge Island.
The Coast Guard said the passenger who went overboard was a woman, however, and not a man as previously reported by the ferry crew and other passengers.
The woman was rescued by the Coast Guard shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Coast Guard Petty Officer 3rd Class Nate Littlejohn said the woman was brought back to Seattle and treated by EMTs.
Littlejohn said she appeared to be uninjured, but was unable to say if the woman was then taken to a hospital or released by the EMTs.
