Neighborhoods across Bainbridge Island — and communities across Western Washington — were left without power as a powerful rainstorm packing strong winds swept through the region Tuesday.
Puget Sound Energy reported more than 600 power outages across Western Washington just before 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17.
On Bainbridge, crews have yet to get electricity flowing in 35 different locations that have gone powerless.
The largest outage is on High School Road, where more than 1,145 homes and structures lost power just after 1 p.m.
Other large outages were reported near the Bainbridge ferry terminal, where 140 PSE customers were without power, to Grand Avenue NE, where another 125 homes were affected.
More than 30 homes on Hidden Cove were also without power.
The area remains under a high wind warning until 6 p.m. Nov. 17. According to the National Weather Service’s office in Seattle, the strongest winds will last until 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Hidden Cove Road is closed in the 7700 block due to fallen trees, and Blakely Avenue is also closed due to a fallen tree near Captain Johnston Blakely Elementary.
