Sketchy road conditions due to this weekend’s snowy weather has prompted the Bainbridge Island School District to close public schools across the island for Monday, Feb. 11.
District officials said Sunday there will be no out-of-district transportation Monday. The schedule may also change for sports events; officials said that has yet to be determined.
The cancellation of school for snow days this month will mean the last day of the school year will be changed.
The Bainbridge Island School Board will approve changes to the school calendar, said district spokeswoman Erin Bischoff.
Bainbridge Island was buried by heavy snow Friday and Saturday, and forecasters said the region is due to be hit by another snowstorm Monday, with as much as 9 to 12 inches of snow possible in some areas of Western Washington.
