The Bainbridge Island School District also announced early Wednesday that classes would be canceled for Nov. 25.

Many islanders were still without power just after 10 a.m. Wednesday.

PSE said most customers in Kitsap should have their electricity restored by Wednesday night. Most of Bainbridge should have power by early Wednesday evening.

Another 852 homes in the Seabold area were also without power, according to Puget Sound Energy.

PSE said crews worked through the night to restore power, and electricity has been restored to more than 75,000 customers since 11 a.m. Tuesday.

The utility said roughly 15,000 homes and businesses were still witouth power Wednesday morning in Kitsap, and noted there were about 180 outages throughout its service area.

The storm was most damaging in Kitsap, PSE said.

Fallen trees closed numerous roads on Bainbridge Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Bainbridge Island Fire Department said Battle Point Drive was closed just east of Beach Street due to downed wires Wednesday morning.

The outage Tuesday on Bainbridge knocked out traffic signals along Highway 305 and created a traffic mess for afternoon commuters.

One driver said it took her two hours to travel from High School Road to the Agate Pass Bridge.

The power blackouts also delayed ferry sailings between Bainbridge Island and Seattle, and Washington State Ferries reported that boats were running late on evening sailings Tuesday.
