Jordyn Vandeleur will enroll at the University of Washington Honors Program as a Stamps Leadership Scholar.
Vandeleur is the daughter of Barb and Matt Vandeleur of Bainbridge Island. Her recent activities and honors include Ometepe delegate for the past two years, BOSIA Student Board Member, member of the National Honor Society, recipient of the Presidential Service Award and semi-finalist for the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange Study.
While at the University of Washington, Vandeleur will study economics and Spanish.
The Stamps Family Charitable Foundation supports merit scholarships at 35 partner universities and colleges across the country. This year, more than 500,000 applications were reviewed at these schools for consideration as Stamps Scholars. From these applications, approximately 170 students were selected.
The value of this scholarship is approximately $140,000, including enrichment funds for international travel, research internships and outdoor leadership experiences.
Vandeleur was chosen for her leadership, scholarship, perseverance and innovation.
