All four members of the “Kick Door Gang” have been arrested and charged for home-invasion robberies on Bainbridge Island and Suquamish last December.
An informant called them the KDG, and when police asked what that was they were told the “Kick Door Gang.”
Bainbridge police announced April 18 that arrest warrants were issued for two suspects in the BI robbery. One was already arrested and appeared in Kitsap County Superior Court that day.
Isaac Jordan Colwill, 20, of BI was arrested on suspicion of two counts of first-degree robbery. He faces two counts of life in prison and $50,000 fines. Bail was set at $250,000.
BIPD says a community member saw its Facebook post and called 911 to report Colwill’s whereabouts.
The other suspect, Diego Fernando Fletcher, 19, also of BI, was arrested April 19 by Tacoma police following tips BIPD received earlier in the day.
Two other suspects were previously arrested and charged.
The robberies occurred Dec. 8 at a tiny home village in Suquamish and Dec. 13 at a residence in the 6100 block of Lynwood Center Road on BI. The cases were investigated by the Suquamish Tribal and BI police departments.
In the BI robbery, court records show a woman told BI police that three men in dark clothing and masks entered her unlocked home, pointed guns at her, demanded to know where her cash was, and threatened to kill her and her son. That was at 11:30 a.m. The victim said one suspect said his juvenile son was aware a large sum of money was there because of a former friend.
The suspects reportedly stole about $3,200, along with some Japanese yen, including a $10,000 note. They also allegedly took her purse and phone, which were later found near the intersection of Miller and NE Tolo roads.
One of the suspects, a 21-year-old BI man, was finally arrested March 5. He was in Superior Court March 6 charged with first-degree robbery with a deadly weapon and taking a motor vehicle in the second degree. Bail was $310,000. He faces life in prison plus five years and $60,000 in fines.
Police later found out that about a half hour before the robbery, a bystander took images of something suspicious. The bystander at a BI Thai restaurant emailed images to BIPD of two people removing stickers and the front license plate from a car.
On Dec. 19 around 3:20 a.m. police found the suspect vehicle that was in the images at Battle Point Park. Near it was paperwork on the ground that apparently belonged to a stolen car. While talking to a suspect the officer allegedly saw hallucinogenic mushrooms in a clear bag. Later more bags of mushrooms reportedly were found in a backpack, along with two bills of Japanese yen, one a $10,000 note.
In the Suquamish case, two informants identified the suspects as Colwill, Fletcher and Taievion J. Rogers. Two had AR-15s and the other a Ruger pistol. They reportedly kicked in the front door, and the victim yelled. It was part of a tiny home village owned by Suquamish Tribe members. The victim said an Xbox, marijuana and $7,000 cash was stolen.
The informant described the three suspects as “laughing” about how scared the victim was. The informant called them the KDG for “Kick Door Gang.” The victim allegedly was told he would be killed if he did not give them the money.
