Celebrate summer solstice by joining Weed Warriors this weekend at a work party to remove invasive plants.

The group will gather from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 21 at Bainbridge Island Waterfront Park, near the ferry terminal. Weed Warriors will continue to remove noxious holly, ivy, blackberry and Daphne laureole; but it appears native species are now starting to revive at the site.

Volunteers should bring gloves if they have them and pruning shears and pruning saws and a reusable water container; Weed Warriors will bring extra gear for those who are without.

Volunteers should park on Brien Drive SE across from the community center and meet at the stage in the park.
