The Seattle office of the National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the Puget Sound, including lowlands and the south interior, through the evening of Friday, Dec. 14.
Forecasters are predicting winds from the south that will reach speeds of 25 to 35 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph.
The advisory has been issued for 1 to 7 p.m. Dec. 14.
Strong winds are expected to damage trees, which could lead to local power outages. Drivers of vehicles that are high in height are also being warned to use extra caution.
A high wind warning is also in effect for Washington’s Pacific Coastline and portions of the interior through Friday evening, with south winds of 30 to 40 mph and gusts up to 60 mph.
