Wing Point residents will be without water for much of the day on Tuesday, Feb. 2 as construction crews continue work on the Wing Point Way street project.
The water outage is planed for 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Feb. 2.
City officials said notices will be hung on the doors of city water customers who will be affected by the shutdown.
Water will be shut off in Wing Point so the water main serving that neighborhood can be relocated, and the water will be rerouted to support the reconstruction project.
City officials said residents may also experience discolored water and pressure fluctuations in the areas of Ferncliff Avenue east to Fairview Avenue and from Dingley Road south to Wing Point Drive during the water outage.
The water discoloration comes from harmless iron and manganese sediments that are stirred up by the change in water flow direction, officials said.
Residents who experience low water pressure or discolored water are being advised to wait until the scheduled outage is over and then to run their cold water for 5 minutes until it is clear.
