A 70-year-old Port Orchard woman pointed a gun at a man who was trying to help another Amazon driver who was stuck in the mud.

She was in Kitsap County Superior Court Nov. 27 charged with second-degree assault. Bail was $250,000. She faces 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

Courts records say Kitsap deputies responded Nov. 26 at 6:46 p.m. to the 600 block of SW Winter Spring Lane in Port Orchard. An Amazon driver said a woman just pointed a .380 gun at him. He was trying to tow out another driver who was stuck in the mud on just her second day of work there. She started calling them horrible names and was being rude before pulling out the gun.

Woman with MS, 56, choked at casino

A 56-year-old woman with multiple sclerosis says she was choked by her 32-year-old boyfriend at a local casino.

The Seattle man was in Superior Court Nov. 27 facing charges of second-degree assault. He faces 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

Court records say Kitsap deputies responded Nov. 26 at 9:23 p.m. to the 15300 block of Suquamish Way NE. The victim said she was choked by her boyfriend and hotel security was separating them.

The victim, 56, explained her boyfriend is from another country where they treat women like property. She said she has multiple sclerosis, they had been dating three months, and he had been violent before, but she only reported it once, and he didn’t go to jail.

He had been drinking, and he choked her in the casino, then when they got to their room, he pinned her down. “She felt like she was kidnapped, and she was not free to leave,” the report says. He got more violent as she defended herself. She would have felt molested if he was a stranger, she said.

Naked man caught trying to climb fence

A 46-year-old transient man in Bremerton was in Superior Court Nov. 27 charged with indecent exposure to a minor under age 14.

He faces five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Court records show Bremerton police responded Nov. 26 at 9:03 a.m. to 6th Street and Montgomery Avenue to reports of a naked man running through a parking lot at a child care center.

The man had run a few blocks and was found in a back yard trying to climb over a fence. He said he was trying to find some clothes, but wasn’t sure if some in a nearby intersection were his.

Officers use pepper balls to control suspect

A 31-year-old Bremerton man was in Superior Court Nov. 27 facing four charges.

He’s charged with second-degree assault (10 years, $20,000); interfering domestic violence (1 year, $5,000); resisting arrest (90 days, $1,000); and trespassing (1 year, $5,000).

Court records say Kitsap deputies went to the NW Hidden Meadow Way in Bremerton at 3:06 p.m. Nov. 26. The victim said the suspect had a gun and was trying to kill her. He fled but officers used a Pepper-ball to take him into custody.

The victim said they had been married five years and he had bloodied her face. Their 5-year-old son was there. The fight started the day before when he told her he was going to make money selling meth as he went to pick up their son from child care.

Later, she called 9-1-1 and held a knife for protection. He grabbed her and held her nose and mouth so she could not breathe. She feared for her life. She bit him, he disconnected 9-1-1, then punched her in the face, all with their son there.

Port Orchard wife jumps out of moving car

A woman jumped out of a moving car at 30 mph or more, fearing her husband would beat her to death or she would die in a crash as he had been driving 120 mph.

The 26-year-old Port Orchard man was in Superior Court Dec. 2 facing three charges. He’s charged with assault with a deadly weapon (10 years, $20,000 fine max); harassment threat to kill (5 years, $10,000); and reckless endangerment (1 year, $5,000).

Court records say Kitsap deputies responded at 3 a.m. Nov. 30 to the 10200 block of SE Southworth Drive in Port Orchard. Officers saw the wife sitting on the porch with her right eye swollen shut. Blood was all over her face and chest.

She said she went to a bar where her husband had been drinking, and he told her he was driving. On the way he drove as fast as 120 mph. She told him five times to stop. She was scared. He said he didn’t care, and he would kill her. He hit her 20 times with a closed fist. When he slowed for a turn she jumped out at about 30 mph. She felt if she stayed in the vehicle she would die at his hands, either by injury or a crash.

Man arrested even though both injured

A 24-year-old Bremerton man was in Superior Court Dec. 2 held on two charges.

He was charged with assault strangulation (10 years, $20,000 fine) and violation of a court order (5 years, $10,000 fine).

Court records say Bremerton police responded Dec. 1 at 8:01 p.m. to the N. Wycoff Avenue in Bremerton. At the location two juveniles were home but no adults, and there were empty Modelo beer cans. The young people said they returned from their dad’s home in Port Orchard to their mom arguing with her boyfriend, who had scratch marks on his face and a swollen lip.

Later, she said he had barged in her door and choked her for about four seconds. She told him to leave and locked herself into a bedroom, but he kicked it open and choked her some more. She fought back, injuring him. When found, he said she attacked him because he was drunk.

He was arrested because of a no-contact order, a door was broken and she had visible wounds.

Suspect car rolls after chase with officers

A 20-year-old Kirkland man was in Superior Court Nov. 27 charged with DUI and unlawful possession of a firearm.

He faces 11 years in prison and $25,000 in fines.

Court records show Bremerton police responded Nov. 27 at 1:50 a.m. to the southbound Highway 3 offramp at Loxi Eagans Boulevard. While trying to do a traffic stop, the vehicle took off and had trouble staying on the road. He went 55 mph in a 25 mph zone to avoid capture but later rolled twice down an incline. Officers smelled marijuana, and found cocaine, along with a gun, which he was not supposed to have due to a previous conviction.
