The Bainbridge Island City Council will consider a construction contract to extend the trail along Sportsman Club Road at its meeting this week.

The Sportsman Club Trail currently consists of a gravel trail that runs from High School to New Brooklyn roads.

If approved, Wyser Construction Co. will complete the trail segment from High School Road to just past the Sportsman Club pond.

At a base bid of $38,362, Wyser Construction was the lowest bidder out of three applicants.

Lakeside Industries and Kelaye Concrete also submitted bids.

Kelaye Concrete proposed $46,510 for the project and Lakeside priced the work at $62,955.

In recognition of Veterans Day, the council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10 this week in city hall.
