Anne S. Keating, age 81
Anne S. Keating, formerly of Bainbridge Island, died September 14, 2012. She was 81.
Anne attended Barnard College and graduated from Hunter College in New York City. Her career was in publishing. She was Circulation Director and Advertising Director for Natural History. She was an original founder of Smithsonian, The Wilson Quarterly, and Air & Space magazines.
Anne retired to East Hampton in 1985 and was a consultant to several national organizations while there. She served on the East Hampton Library Board. In 1994 she moved to Bainbridge Island, WA where she was active in her community. She led the Port Madison community and served as president of the Eagle Harbour Condominium Association.
Anne enjoyed friends, travel, and many cultural activities throughout her life. Friends remember her as an elegant, genuine person. She is survived by her cousins, Grace Ross and Barbara Ross-Robey, and her adopted family, the Hislops.
