Bernard Angelo Lindenstein

October 17, 1926 – March 30, 2011

      Ben was born Bernard Angelo DiLisi on October 17th, 1926, in Phoenix, AZ, to Antonio and Santina ‘Amalia’ (Carricillo) DiLisi, who died during his childhood. He was adopted by Oscar ‘Gilbert’ Lindenstein who married Gurli Jonsson. Ben met and married Ruth Waggoner, on June 1st, 1947, while in the US Army in Seattle.

      On March 30th, 2011, after a determined battle against increasing medical conditions, Ben leaves behind his wife, Ruth; his children, Brad (Jenny), Gary (Sharol), Dianne Thompson (Jeff), Susan, and Doug (Sherry); sisters, Mary Walshok and Margaret Lindenstein (Jim Allison); twelve grandchildren, a growing number of great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other much-loved family.

      A memorial will be Saturday, April 9th, at 2:00 p.m. at Whidbey Presbyterian Church. Donations are suggested
