Loving mother, grandmother and friend, Beverly Jane Cook passed away after a lingering illness on Monday, Jan. 12, 2015.
She was born in Long Beach, California on Sept. 4, 1940 to William Albert and Helen Iris White.
In 1958 she graduated from Wilson High School in Long Beach and went on to attend Brigham Young University and Long Beach State College. She married Robert Edward Cook on March 13, 1965 (later divorced) in Long Beach, California. One son, David, was born to this union. While married, she lived in various places including California, Washington, the Bahamas and Turkey.
Beverly moved to Washington in 1977 and lived on Bainbridge Island. She worked as a guardian ad litem, and a guardian from her home, giving dedicated and competent service to those in need for more than 20 years.
In addition to her work, Beverly loved to cook, read and watch the Seattle Seahawks play football. Most of all she loved being with her family, friends and playing with her dog, Felix.
Beverly is survived by her son, David Cook; her two grandchildren, Chloe and Emory Cook; her sisters, Bonnie White and Nadine Williams; a niece, Julie Kerr; a nephew, John [Kristy] McKinnon; and other grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Jan. 24 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bainbridge Island.
