Carol Joyce Franznick passed away peacefully on Bainbridge Island on June 22, 2021 at the age of 85.
Carol was born on January 11, 1936 in Newton, Kansas. After attending college, Carol married John Franznick, a young Army officer stationed in Germany. Carol loved to travel and lived in many locations including Alabama, Utah, Kansas, Arizona, Oregon, and Washington. She worked as a music and English teacher and was an active volunteer. Carol enjoyed lifelong involvement with Alpha Xi Delta and P.E.O.
Carol loved music and singing, sharing her voice as a part of many musical groups. Carol was best known for her creativity and attention to detail, which she brought to her entertaining, cooking, fashion, and crafting throughout her life. She could recreate an outfit from the pages of a magazine with or without a pattern. There was no sewing project that intimidated her. Once relocated from the desert of Arizona to the Pacific Northwest, Carol was an enthusiastic gardener. Her roses and dahlias were known to be especially beautiful.
A memorial service will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery on July 22, at 10:30AM. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that remembrances be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
