Daisy Quintua, of Bainbridge Island, died peacefully on Sept. 10 at Martha and Mary Health Care Services.
Born on July 25, 1928 in Nanaimo, British Columbia, she was 81.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Darlene Quintua of Bainbridge Island; her niece, Kay Froude of Nanaimo; nephew and niece Dave Bodaly and Lillian Glass of Nanaimo; cousin Max Settler of Nanaimo (son of her late aunt, Margaret James); her eldest sister, Clara Reid of Bakersfield, Calif.; and numerous relatives throughout Vancouver Island and the United States.
She wasn’t able to see all the family and friends who would have wanted to visit but said, “I know in my heart of your expressions of concern and love and will always remember the kindness shown to me throughout the many years.”
It was her wish to be cremated, with her ashes buried with her late husband, Segundo Arce Quintua, at Kane Cemetery on Bainbridge. Private graveside services will be held. A celebration of life will be announced at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Cook Family Funeral Home. An online guest book is at www.cookfamilyfuneralhome.com.
