Dan Michael Brings, 64

Dan Michael Brings, former resident of Bainbridge Island, died peacefully on March 1, in Hong Kong due to cancer.

Dan was born Jan. 10, 1946 to Vincent and Ethel Brings. A Washington state native, he graduated from Bellevue High School in 1964 and from the University of Washington in 1967 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Dan was a veteran of the Vietnam War and worked with Don Palmer to start the recycling program at Bainbridge Disposal. He enjoyed playing golf in his earlier years as a member of the Meadowmeer and Wing Point golf clubs. For the last five years he lived with his wife in Hong Kong and enjoyed teaching English as a second language and traveling around Asia.

He is survived by wife Joan Brings; daughters Teresa and Amanda, son-in-law of Kii, and mother-in-law of Linda.
