Donna Lee Harper, age 55, died May 26.

She was born June 30, 1946 in Fayetteville, N.C. to Studart and Hedda (Weiner) Somers. She graduated from Deanza High School in El Sobrante, Calif. in 1964, and went on to attend Chico State.

She worked for Highpoint University in Highpoint, N.C., where she was named the second “Mom of the Year.” She also worked for the Bainbridge School District.

Her hobbies were gardening and reading.

She is survived by her son, Jesse Harper of Wilmington, N.C., and sisters Sandra (Fred) Bach of Shingle Springs, Calif. and Marlene (Gary) Somers-Moe of Kenwood, Calif.

At the family’s request, no services will be held at this time.
