Doris P. Larson

Doris P. Larson, 86, died March 8 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton.

She was born Doris P. Davis Feb. 26, 1917 in Port Orchard, the daughter of Sherman and Vernie Davis. She graduated from Bremerton High School in 1935.

She married Henry Larson in 1939 and they made their home on Bainbridge Island, where they owned Larson Lumber with Henry’s father and brother-in-law.

The couple retired from the lumber company in 1972.

She and Henry moved to Soap Lake in Grant County, where they resided for 12 years. They enjoyed fishing, gardening and trailering, spending winter months in California and Arizona.

She enjoyed playing bridge at the Bainbridge Island Senior Center. She was a 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 235 and was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church on Bainbridge Island.

She was preceded in death by husband, Henry, in 1989 and her daughter, Joyce, in 1991.

Survivors include daughter Linda Orr of Bremerton, daughter, Dorie Larson of Shoreline, son, Henry Larson of Bainbridge Island and 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 12 p.m. March 15 at Bethany Lutheran Church, with a funeral service following at 1 p.m. Burial will be at the Port Blakely Cemetery, with a reception following at the church.
