Dorothy Alice Mock, age 73, died July 18 at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle.
She was born March 27, 1930 in Elmhurst, Ill., to Arthur and Alice (Clauss) Klinckmann.
Following graduation from Glen Bard High School in Glen Ellyn, Ill., in 1948, she attended Ripon College in Wisconsin.
In 1952 she married Howard Mock in Wheaton, Ill., and they lived in the Chicago area for the next 13 years.
They moved to Clearwater, Fla., in 1965 and remained there until moving to Bainbridge Island in 1988.
She was an active person who enjoyed sailing, tennis, gardening, debating politics, hiking, travel and attending the symphony.
She was president of the Progressive Animal Welfare Society of Bainbridge Island for five years.
She is survived by her husband, Howard, Bainbridge Island; one son Douglas Mock of Suwanee, Ga.; three daughters, Katherine Klein, Clearwater, Fla.; Cynthia Shuttleworth, Brownsville, Wash.; Elizabeth Hoecker, Randle, Wash.; one sister, Muriel Klinckmann, Bainbridge Island, and two grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 10 at Eagle Harbor Congregational Church.
