Dorothy Guy

Dorothy E. Guy, 105, died April 16 in Seattle, having lived in three different centuries.

She was born July 19, 1898 in Victoria, B.C. She met her husband Albert on Vashon Island, where she graduated from high school. She attended Bellingham Normal Teachers College, and taught school until her marriage.

She enjoyed travel with her husband, and spent 83 summers at Pleasant Beach on Bainbridge Island with family and friends.

She was a member of Queen Anne United Methodist Church, and attended Rolling Bay Presbyterian and Seabold United Methodist when on Bainbridge.

She is survived by her son, George A. (Marjorie), eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Albert K. Guy, president of G.O. Guy Drug Stores, and her daughter Grace and son-in-law John Putnam.

A memorial celebration will be held at 2 p.m. May 1 at Queen Anne Methodist Church.
