Edgar Lloyd Frease passed away peacefully in Austin, TX, on December 4th, surrounded by his family after battling Parkinson’s disease for a number of years. He is survived by his wife Teresa Mullan Frease, and son Daren Frease of Austin, TX, and sisters Sharon Bayne, of Port Angeles, WA, Lynne McMahan of Seattle, WA, and brother Steve Frease of Bainbridge Island, WA.
Ed was born in 1947 in Seattle, WA, the second child and eldest son of Edgar and Margaret Frease. Ed and his four other siblings were lucky enough to grow up in a loving house along the waters of Fletcher’s Bay, Bainbridge Island, WA. Ed graduated from Bainbridge Island High School in 1965 and completed his bachelors in electrical engineering from the University of Washington in 1969. A deeply spiritual soul, Ed was involved with the teaching and dissemination of Transcendental Meditation or TM, for which he traveled extensively, eventually settling in Fairfield, IA, in 1980. He thereafter earned an MBA from Maharishi International University. It was through his connections with TM that he eventually met his wife Teresa. They were married in 1993 in Teresa’s home country of Ireland. Their son Daren was born in 1996 in Fairfield, IA. Ed made a career in sales, as a senior account executive. In 2012 the family relocated to Austin, TX, to pursue further study and teaching within the Chinese disciplines of Qi Gong and traditional Chinese medicine.
Eddie, as he was affectionately known, will be remembered for his kind demeanor, mischievous sense of humor, warm heart and love of nature. He is dearly loved and will be tenderly missed.
