Edgar Dyer Hunting
Edgar (Ted) Dyer Hunting died of lymphoma March 4 at the Hospice Care Center of Kitsap County in Bremerton.
He was born July 10, 1939 to Edgar and Alice Leeds Hunting in Pasadena, Calif. He received a master’s in engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from UCLA.
He served in the Peace Corp, initially in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) and then in Iran; and worked for the Louis Berger Group in Thailand and the World Bank before retiring in 1988.
He lived in Washington, D.C., and in recent years on Bainbridge Island. He enjoyed the outdoors and backpacking trips in the Cascades and Rocky Mountains.
He is survived by siblings Nancy Saunders (James) of Mill Valley, Calif., John Hunting of Santa Barbara, Calif. and David Hunting of Bainbridge Island; nieces Amy Simpson, Alice Hunting; nephews John Saunders and James Hunting; and several cousins; also, classmates and longtime friends Kemp Crawford, Elon Gilbert and Mike Connell.
