Evelyn Mae Ellingsen, 87, died Feb. 28. She lived on Bainbridge Island for most of her life.
She was born May 22, 1914 and worked for many years as a bookkeeper on Bainbridge Island.
She was known for her fishing expertise and her skills as a gardener.
She was preceded in death by her parents Pierre John Lofgren and Lillian Knight Lofgren, husband “Brownie” Ellingsen; son Victor, sister Mildred McLean, and brother Edward Lofgren.
She is survived by her son, Ed Ellingsen of Camano Island and his wife, Barb; a brother, Irving Lofgren of Seattle and his wife, Gwen; granddaughters Heather Thomas and Jean Oppliger and their husbands, Dave and Matt; grandsons Ron and his wife April, Bob and his wife Kim, Mike and his wife Monica, and Victor Ellingsen, Jr.; and 15 great grandchildren.
A celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held this summer in the Poulsbo area.
