Faith Laird, of Bainbridge Island, died at home on Oct. 25 of Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer.
She was born in Lewiston, Idaho, on May 11, 1991. She moved to Bainbridge Island in 1998 and was adopted by her forever mom, Anne Laird.
Faith was known for her uncompromising love of animals. She was happiest when she was with her dogs, Ise, Lewis and Rosie. She wanted to shelter all unwanted pets and help wild animals survive. She was an excellent swimmer and runner, having great stamina for long distances.
Faith had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh with her friends and family. Her energy, strength and thoughtfulness of others inspired her family and friends throughout her life and during her difficult illness. She was a resident of Winslow Cohousing and was supported and loved by her neighbors there, as well as by friends and family near and far.
Faith is survived by her mother, Anne Laird; brothers Eli Wilson, Phil Siegfried and James Beal; and uncles Tom, Charles, and Michael Laird and their families.
Remembrances may be made in Faith’s name to PAWS of Bainbridge Island, to Kitsap Humane Society, or to Seattle Children’s Hospital Foundation, PO Box 50020, Seattle WA 98145, designating “Sarcoma Research Fund.”
A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. Nov. 29 at Winslow Cohousing.
