Bainbridge Island resident Fredrick Miguel “Freddie” Areneda died Feb. 28 in North Vancouver, B.C., Canada.

He was born on Dec. 14, 1933 in Vancouver, BC. He logged from the 1950s until 1980 in Washington and Alaska and worked at North Kitsap High from 1982-1998.

He is survived by his children Bob (Sheila) Nanaimo, BC; Charlotte (Brian), North Vancouver, BC; Fred Jr. (Adrienne), Bainbridge Island; Peter (Christine), Suquamish; Jerry, Kingston; Joseph, Kingston; Frances (Jerry), Port Orchard; 19 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. April 12 at Kane Cemetery on Bainbridge Island.

A luncheon will follow immediately after the service at the Suquamish Tribal Center, Sandy Hook Road, Suquamish.
