Gerald N. Burnham

Gerald N. Burnham passed away on Oct. 31 2016. He was born to Alfred and Helen Burnham on Nov.24, 1923. Jerry was born in Hoquiam, Washington. He later moved with his parents to Rainier, Washington and lived there until going into the United States Army during WWII.

After his enlistment in the Army, Jerry went home to Rainer where he met and married Nadine L. Layton. They resided in Port Orchard, Washington. They were married for 67 years.

Jerry worked in the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington until he retired. Jerry loved sports of all kinds. He was active in all kinds of sports from playing golf to coaching baseball and umpiring. He also loved to hunt.

Jerry was very proud of being a U.S. veteran and his name was placed on the memorial wall in downtown Port Orchard.

Jerry is survived by his wife Nadine L. Burnham; daughter Tammy A.Burnham -Ashley; five grandchildren;11 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Tom Burnham, Rusty Burnham, Joe Burnham, and Charles Burnham all of Rainer; and two sisters, Udella Burnham of Parkland, and Gloria Carver of Rainer.

Jerry joins his brother, Jim Burnham, his sister, Dorthey Burnham, and his daughter Teresa (Teri) Burnham in Heaven.

He will be missed by many family members and in-laws. He will remain loved in our memories.
