Harold Graydon Gray, known as Grady to everyone, passed from this life on Aug. 28, 2017 at his lovely home on Bainbridge Island. He succumbed to pancreatic cancer after a four-month wrangle. He was 72.
Born in Bell, California on March 17, 1945, Grady was a Saint Patrick’s Day baby weighing in at just over 3 pounds. He survived whooping cough in his early months. His parents were Harold C. Gray and Ardis Louise Ridenour Gray. Grady joined his sister, Karen Lee. The family lived in Seattle and Bellingham.
Grady was educated at University of Washington and Western Washington University. He earned his doctorate’s degree at Psychological Studies Institute in Palo Alto, California and his process psychology certification in Zurich, Switzerland.
Grady is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dana Sharlee Marrs, his sons Daymon (Erikka Martin) and grandchildren, Byron, Winslow and Gabriel in Hailey, Idaho and Shane (Gretchen Engel) and Audrey and Tristan in Redmond, Washington.
He is survived by his sister, Karen Shoemaker, of Hanford, California.
A celebration of his life in the commons at Bainbridge High School at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16.
