Former islander Hazel B. Holt, age 91, died Aug. 5 in Seattle.

She was born May 27, 1912 in Seattle. She became a nun in the Cabrini Sisters order in New York City and New Orleans, La. She attended Loyola University and studied pharmacology. She lived on Bainbridge for 30 years, and was active in St. Cecilia parish.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Helmer. She is survived by brothers Fiore and Nick, sisters Miki English and Bertha Holmes, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 11 at Sacred Heart Church in Seattle, with interment at Lake View Cemetery.
