Helen Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Redmond

Helen Elizabeth “Betty” Redmond, 83, died April 8 on Bainbridge Island.

She was born on April 21, 1926, to John and Vivian Nelson of Vancouver, B.C., and married John F. Redmond in 1961.

They retired on Bainbridge in 1974 and Betty resided at the Wyatt House after her husband died in 2005. She was also preceded in death by brother John A. Nelson and sister Margaret N. Heeney.

She is survived by: son Gregory Nelson Redmond, stepson John C. Redmond (Else) of Lincoln, Calif., stepson Daniel Redmond Silver Spring, Md., and Myrna Redmond, widow of stepson Richard Redmond, of Colchester, Vt.; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A service is scheduled for April 17 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, followed by a church reception.
