Helen Hoffman, 75, died Dec. 14 at her home in Lakewood, Wash.
She was born Oct. 18, 1926 in Spokane to Josephine Cribb and Ernest Nelson.
She attended Whitman College and graduated with a degree in English from the University of Washington.
She married Paul Hoffman and raised her two sons, Eric and Marc, in Lakewood.
She was an accomplished interior designer working out of Saxtons and Greenbaums. She was also actively involved in local theatre with the Lakewood Players.
Her home was a gathering place for a myriad of people. She enjoyed jazz, theatre, literature and entertaining a house full of friends and family.
She is survived by two sons and their families: Eric Hoffman, a Bainbridge High School teacher, daughter-in-law Linda and grandsons Sam and Charlie, all of Bainbridge Island; and son Marc, daughter-in-law Christian and granddaughter Isabella.
A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Jan. 5 at the Little Church on the Prairie in Lakewood.
