Howard K. Patterson

Howard K. Patterson, 88, of Poulsbo, died June 4 on Bainbridge Island.

He was born Aug. 19, 1916, in Nampa, Idaho, to Rachel I. (Taylor) Patterson. He graduated from Nampa High School and married Millie E. (Stanford) Patterson on Dec. 2, 1939 in Nampa.

He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic in Bangor and Keyport and served in the Navy during World War II. He enjoyed farming, fishing, working with animals and repairing watches. He was a member of The Chrystal Grange No. 1126, VFW Post 4992 and the First Christian Church in Bremerton.

He is survived by his wife Millie E. Patterson of Poulsbo; son Ken Patterson of Tacoma; and brothers Bill Patterson of Nampa and Hoyt Patterson of Portland, Ore.

Services were June 10 at First Christian Church, with inurnment at Tahoma National Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be sent to 4-H clubs of the state of Washington.
