It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jack William Niehaus, 25, who tragically died in a motorbike accident while vacationing in Thailand. Jack was on a dream trip to Asia with his travel buddies, fulfilling his passion for travel and life experiences.
Jack was raised on Bainbridge Island, where he developed his early love for sports, particularly baseball. Starting in Bainbridge Island Little League, progressing to varsity and select baseball, Jack was known as a big-hearted team player and one heck of a hitter. He graduated from BHS in 2017 and went on to earn a BS in Business from CalPoly University. Jack’s professional journey led him to a role as a Wealth Strategy Associate at UBS in Seattle, where he was admired for his dedication and enthusiasm.
Jack’s infectious smile, kind heart, and friendly demeanor made him beloved by all who knew him. He was known for his incredible sense of humor and his ability to connect with people effortlessly. His love for sports included soccer, hockey, football, golf, and especially Formula 1 racing. Jack lived simply but passionately, always prioritizing experiences and time with loved ones over material possessions. Jack’s entrepreneurial spirit was also the inspiration for the Sweet Deal Mobile, an iconic transportation cart for several years bringing tourists from the Bainbridge ferry into town. He also was its favorite driver, and he was always a wealth of knowledge and history for the tourists wanting to learn a little bit about Bainbridge.
Jack is survived by his loving parents, Troy and Nicole, his dear sisters, Natalya and Priya, and his cherished grandparents including grandmother, Charlotte Brown from Bainbridge Island. His vibrant spirit and joyous presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at Kiana Lodge at 1:30 PM on June 16. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jack’s name to support travel scholarships, helping others experience the joy and wonder he found in exploring the world. The Jack Niehaus Memorial Fund is being managed through The Bainbridge Community Foundation. You can find the link below:
