James Wesley Carlson, age 76

James Wesley Carlson died May 13 in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. He was 76.

He was born July 12, 1933, in Tacoma to Ruby and Bob Carlson.

He was an alumnus of Washington State University, where he met and married Barbara Gullett in 1955. Before retirement to Arizona, the couple resided on Bainbridge Island, where Jim had a career in construction management.

He also enjoyed woodworking, creating reproductions of Queen Anne and Chippendale furniture.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; son James J. Carlson (Kathy), of Bainbridge Island; son Curtis R. Carlson (Molly) of Mountain View, Calif; and four grandchildren: Lindsey, Greg, Kelsey and Sadie Carlson.
