Island resident Jean Marie Wolterman, age 76, died Nov. 3 at the home of her daughter Kim McMahon on Bainbridge Island.
She was born Aug. 20, 1926 in Mt. Carmel, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Bernardine (Bernholtz) Rettenmaier.
She retired from TWA Airlines as a security agent after 25 years.
She settled on Bainbridge Island and involved herself with her church and her garden, volunteered her time and talent to Fishline in Poulsbo and especially spent time with her grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Nov. 9 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church.
She is survived by one son, Timothy Wolterman of California; five daughters: Mary Kay Townsend, Karen Aqui and Dannette Black, all of Hemet, Calif.; Cheryl Diamond of Las Vegas, Nev.; and Kim McMahon of Bainbridge Island; two brothers, Louis Rettenmaier of Denver, Colo. and Delwin Rettenmaier of Hermosa Beach, Calif.; a sister, Mary Jane Carpenter of Chicago, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Four children preceded her in death.
