Kerry Eileen Forrester
May 11, 1950 – April 14, 2011
It was a year ago today . . .
That Miss Kerry flew away
On silver wings, shining in the sunlight
Silver wings, flying out of sight
They’ve taken her away
And left us lonely
Silver wings
Slowly fading out of sight
Kerry Eileen Forrester passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, WA from complications associated with pancreatic cancer. At the time of her death, she resided on Shannon Drive on beautiful Bainbridge Island, WA.
Kerry was born to Robert Henry Forrester and Eileen Laura White in Bremerton, WA on May 11, 1950 and was 60 years of age at the time of her death. She is survived by her daughters, Laura E. Marshall of Rochester, NY and Rebecca K. Weiser of Seattle, WA as well as her brother, Robert Scott Forrester of Hansville, WA, one granddaughter, Adele Marshall, and her cousins, many of whom reside in Kitsap County.
“Miss Kerry,” as she was fondly known by many of her friends and acquaintances, was a graduate of Bremerton High School and the University of Washington. During her youth, she and her family lived for several years in Komakura, Japan where her father was employed by the US Navy in a civilian capacity. That adventure imbued her with a lifelong love of travel which resulted in later visits to the capitals of Europe and other foreign destinations.
Her father was also an accomplished carpenter and built a family retreat at Hansville near Point No Point. Throughout her life, she spent many lovely summer days there enjoying the Puget Sound, and after her death, her ashes were spread there.
After her graduation from the University of Washington, Kerry worked for the Bank of Tokyo where she met and married Jeff Weiser of New York City. They lived in New York for a time where she honed her keen interest in opera and the arts and where her daughter Laura, was born. The family subsequently returned to the Puget Sound and Bainbridge Island. It was there that her daughter, Rebecca, was born. She and Jeff later divorced and Miss Kerry took on the task of raising and supporting her two children.
Miss Kerry was devoted to the arts and enjoyed painting, opera, and classical music, especially the works of Beethoven. She was also an accomplished seamstress, cook, and gardener who always had a beautiful flower or two to offer her friends and guests. At the time of her death, she was employed as a paralegal for a Seattle law firm. Miss Kerry was dearly loved and is sorely missed by those who knew her.
