Lifelong island resident Koran “Karl” Kasperson, age 59, died Jan. 22 at his home.
He was born Oct. 21, 1943, in Seattle to Karl and Alice (Larson) Kasperson. He graduated from Bainbridge Island High in 1962, attended two years at Olympic College and completed his degree at Pacific Lutheran University.
He taught junior high for three years in Bremerton.
He became owner of Bainbridge Island Lumber Company in Lynwood Center in 1970. After selling the company in 1987, he retired and became involved with the Bainbridge Island Historical Society as vice president and docent. He enjoyed golf, fishing, travel and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Eva, Bainbridge Island; two sons, Leif, Port Orchard, and Kris (Roxanne), Bainbridge Island; and one grandson, Dylan.
Services will be held at 12 p.m. Jan. 29 at Bethany Lutheran Church, with burial to follow at Port Blakely Cemetery.
