Louine H. Pennington

Louine Haines Pennington died Aug. 9 in Poulsbo. She was 92.

Pennington was born to Samuel Andrew Clarence and Alte Mabel (Frey) Haines in York, Pa., on Oct. 8, 1912.

She married Dr. Martin Beadenkopf Pennington on Oct. 9, 1937 in Lancaster, Penn.

She graduated from Stevens High School in Lancaster, Pa. in 1928 and graduated from the Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia in 1933.

She worked as a nurse for 32 years before retiring in 1969.

She was a member of the Wilmington Country Club and Junior Board of Christiana Care Hospital, both in Delaware.

She is survived by sons Lawrence Haines Pennington of Pennsylvania and Martin Beadenkopf (Rose) Pennington of California; daughter Mary Ann Pennington (Vincent) Verneuil of Port Townsend; brother Carson Bernell Haines of California; sisters Orella Witmer of New Jersey and Mary Housen of Delaware; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Martin Beadenkopf Pennington.

A memorial service will be held at 2:15 p.m. Aug. 18 at Martha & Mary Health Care Services in Poulsbo. Interment will be at the Lower Brandywine Cemetery in Delaware.
