Louis Phil Maheu, 70
Louis Phil Maheu died Dec. 21 at his home in Poulsbo. He was 70.
He was born on Feb. 25, 1939 in Manhattan, N.Y. and had previously lived in Canada and in Kingston.
He graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1958. He later worked for Montreal Insurance for 20 years and the Port Gamble Mill for 15 years. He was a member of the Catholic Church and attended St. Peter and St. Olaf.
Louis was a very hard worker throughout his life and things needed to be just right. He loved his family much. He was always ready to help anyone and was very honest. He was stubborn but enjoyed joking a lot.
He was preceded in death by his step-dad Glen Carlson and his mother Laurence Carlson.
He is survived by his beloved wife Gisele Maheu of Poulsbo; children Christiane Maheu of Port Hadlock and Robert Maheu (Vicki) of Kingston; brother Ron Carlson of Poulsbo; cousin Louise Maheu of Poulsbo; grandchildren Stephanie Schaff of Seattle, Mathew Schaff stationed in Hawaii, and Eliana, Samuel and Danielle Maheu of Kingston; aunt Rita Maheu White of Montreal and many loving friends.
Family and friends gathered to attend the recitation of the rosary followed by a Mass of Christian burial on Dec. 28, 2009 at St. Olaf Catholic Church in Poulsbo. Interment will be private.
